Hi,everyone!It's Lizzy's Best Friend fo-eva,Aimee!Lizzy asked me to do another special guest blog post.It has been a long time since I last did this blogging thing.I will try to be as interesting and entertaining as I possibly can(I tend to be one of the most vapid people on Earth,so lemme try my best).

So...LET'S GET THIS SHIT SHOW STARTED!We shall title this blog post:BFF SHIT LIST # 2!All of my favorite things right now in the whole wide world...HERE WE GO!!!!!!!

Me and my soon to be Dream car!!

1.The Fiat 500 Pop(color:Verde Chiaro):
Ok.So,I have never been a car person.My Lizzy has never had a "broke-back" vehicle.She has always had the newest and cutest Volkswagen.Always top of the line.I have always had a rickshaw.It's just how I roll(...or not-HA!).I do not think that in our almost 16 years of friendship that she has ever taken a ride in my vehicle.Not that I blame her.I have been a single mother since my early 20's.I have always sacrificed for my son to have the best of everything.Now that he is almost a grown up,I am going to buy my VERY FIRST CAR!!!!!OMFG!I am so excited...Lizzy told me that I could totally do it(she really believes in me...),and that I deserve something nice!I do,Goddamn-it!I plan on getting my dream car in March!I am uber excited!!!!!The car is super fun to drive(I test drove it already)and has great gas mileage!It looks like a shoe and is super teeny tiny.I really love it!EXCITEMENT X'S INFINITY!!!!

2.Koreatown(a.k.a KO-REEEEEE-UHHHH- TOWN-UH):
I moved from Venice,Ca in November to be able to afford my car payments(very smaaaaat...).My rent is about $500 cheaper,all utilities,and my new joint is almost exactly the same as my old one.The only drawback is that K-Town is a 45 minute commute from the beach where I work.By the time I moved out of Venice,I was seriously over it.It was a total carnival atmosphere.It gets old.I lived there for ages.Korea-town is very "Third World",but,I dig it.I like dirty.I like different cultures.I like crazy foods...I feel at home in K-Town.And,Korean barbeque is so effing yummy!I am so lucky it is in walking distance from my house!YES!!!!

3.Las Vegas,NV:
Ok.So,I liked a guy(if you can call "IT" that)who moved to Las Vegas.I went there to visit that knuckle-head&fell in love with Vegas!OMG!I love that place...The last time I was there 2 months ago,me and my friend Erin stayed at the Cosmopolitan!

It was so lovely.Our beds and the bathroom were the best!
I love the freedom of having a cocktail at any hour of the day(they have those "Yard" thingies to get you WASTED for hours)

I also found my new favorite bar(and I hate bars and anything to do with them,or the folks that patronize bars-ew!).It's called "Blue Martini". They had awesome live cover band playing(Ashley Red), I have a mega crush on the lead singer, shhh!I freaking love Vegas!That place is like a fantasy land for adults.It's all glittery&shiny and junk.

 Being tipsy is always a plus in my book...HA!I wanna go back and see Celine Dion(don't judge!)and Britney Spears(when she takes up residency at one of the casinos there).I love that place!Lizzy is over it,but,I'm a late bloomer...

4.Red Lipstick:
I always have a full face of make up at all times.This is a true fact about me.I will not even go down the street for a cup of coffee without a full face.Nope.Nothing natural about me.Not a damn thing.I love chemicals,perfume,make up and being feminine.Make up rules!So...my new "thing" is red lipstick!It really makes the mouth the focal point of your face.Mac Red(the name of the color by Mac Cosmetics)is the ONLY red that looks good with my skin tone.I also use Cherry (again,Mac)lip liner to line my lips.

5.Nars Blush Exhibit A:
Last time I blogged,I was raving about Super Orgasm blush...I still love that stuff.But,I felt that it wasn't "make up-y" enough for my tastes.I like to look like Baby Jane Hudson all day and night!

Exhibit A helps me to achieve this hardcore "Kardashian" look I need to make my life complete!Then,all is right with the world...(p.s. Exhibit A is BRIGHT red-use sparingly).

6.Gel Nails:
My new favorite thing!So,check it out...Lizzy says I have "Crypt Keeper Hands" *Liz note: so true, she needs to wear gloves with lotion all day & night!

It's true,I totally do.They look like they belong to a corpse. All dry and shit. ASH-Y...Whatever..so,my friends told me about Gel nails.These things last for 3 weeks!OMG!So shiny and purdy!They make my skin look waaaaay less crocodile.They do take ages to get(almost 2 hours).So be prepared to sit there for 5 years.But,it's worth it! Trust!

7.Karla Deras:
Karla Deras is a fashion blogger that attends FIDM here in Los Angeles.Her blog is OMG!She has the best style,best make up,nails,hair,and DIMPLES!I totally just copied her blue nails,too!I think she is the most adorable thing in life right now!She also sells her own line of jewelry at high end department stores.Her blog is called "Karla's Closet".

8.Megan Martinez:
Megan Martinez is a BAD-ASSED make up artist and co-owner of Chaos Make-up.She is based in Texas.She is so damn talented.I love her.She does unbelieveable work..I really want to take one of her classes(I have my estheticians license,and really want to get back into doing things with skin-maybe even make up school).Anyway,I love her!

9.Sophia Amuruso:
This chick is the shit!She is the owner of Nasty Gal.OMG!The clothes are fantastic(ok...some are real hoochie)!I buy a MEGA amount of my clothes from Nasty Gal.Sophia Amuruso was on the Forbes "One's To Watch" list. I don't even think she's in her 30's yet...Check out NastyGal.com

10.Stampd Dope Bathing Suit:

I need a one piece suit for this summer(I have to hide all my junk-i.e.stretch marks and saggy,old lady unsightly blubber).This is my favorite!So cute!Kinda last year,but,I don't care!Loves it!

11.The word "MEGA":

My favorite word right this second...I don't know why..I just love it! M E G A!!!!!!!!!!!

12.Gold Knuckle Rings:

My Lizzy gave me a set for Christmas!I love these things so much!I don't wear them everyday(I wish I could)...I don't want to ruin them...They are so special!LOVES!!!!!

13.Pinterest:
Lizzy turns me onto all sortsakindsa things...She always says,"Oh,DO THIS!I am fucking begging you!Trust me!You will love it!"And,I am always like,"Yeah,right...I ain't doin' that dumb shit!"...And,then,I do...And then-I AM HOOKED AND ADDICTED TO WHATEVER IT IS...In this case,it's the PINTEREST!I have over 460 followers and I just love pinning!I do it for hours!!!!!It's so much fun!Lizzy knows me best...that's why I love my bff(don't try and steal her...SHE'S MINE!!!!!!)

Mesothelioma: the second generation

I was 36 years old. My baby had been born a little over three months earlier. Life was good. Then, I heard those dreaded words, “You have cancer.” malignant pleural mesothelioma to be exact: cancer caused primarily by asbestos.

“What? Isn’t asbestos banned?” I asked repeatedly. “Where could I possibly have been exposed?” People I told about my diagnosis asked the same questions.

As it turns out, it hasn’t been banned. And to answer the second question: secondary exposure.

My father worked in construction. He taped, muddied and sanded drywall. He did not know that the white dust he brought home with him was filled with millions of deadly microscopic cancer-causing asbestos fibers.

When I was diagnosed, the Mayo clinic knew of only one other person my age diagnosed with mesothelioma. Mesothelioma patients were older men who had worked in trades like plumbing or heating. They were former electricians, mechanics, and military men who were exposed to asbestos on their ships.

Then, wives of the tradesmen showed up with the disease. It was assumed they were exposed when they had contact with the asbestos contaminated laundry of their husbands. But, wait. There were more. Women who worked in buildings, such as schools, that were laden with asbestos were getting sick with mesothelioma.

My case marked the beginning of a disturbing trend of young people being diagnosed with this disease. We are the children who sat in those schools with their crumbling asbestos filled tiles. We are the children who played in asbestos contaminated attics filled with vermiculite insulation.

We are the children who were so excited to see our daddy come home at the end of the day that we could not wait for him to change his clothes before we jumped into his arms. We went to feed the rabbits together, and he lovingly gave us his jacket to put on so we would not mess up our own clothes. That is the daddy who loved his children and wanted nothing more than to spend time with them after a day of installing insulation.

Now, we are the children fighting mesothelioma. We are the former children who are just now beginning our own lives: getting married, having our own children and starting new jobs. Suddenly, everything comes to a screeching halt. We have mesothelioma. Our lives now are dedicated to beating this deadly disease.

There is good news. As a community, we have come together to support each other and to share our experiences. We cry together when the news is not good, and we celebrate together when it is.

I have to tell my story. People need to be aware of this disease so they can help bring changes. I want to give those who are newly diagnosed some hope. It feels like the right thing to do. Are you bawling like I was? I am blown away by Heather's strength and resilience and felt that it was neccessary to share her story. Cancer could happen to anyone, under any circumstance, so please stay on top of your health, talk to your physician, and get tested. I know I have taken being healthy for granted in the past but after such a struggle to get preggers, I am much more aware now. I got blood tests done last month because I felt faint at Olivia's preschool orientation. Turns out I'm okay, but I do have a slight iron deficiency so I've upped my vitamin intake. Hello. Alright, so I'm not as good at this blogging jazz as my wife is but I'm going to give it a shot.  So, I think the first step to this is figuring out a theme.  Next, you have to think of a ingenious title to get folks curious enough to want to pop in and take read.  After that, you have to write about your topic in either a reflective manner, a funny or clever way or in a mocking, pessimistic tone.  After you've selected your approach, then its time to write.

Home is Where Your Fart Is

Sunday afternoon, hanging at home with the family is probably the bestest, most fun activity I can think of.  Lots of people may not be able to relate because they enjoy stepping out into the world and mingling with strangers.  Don't get me wrong.  I do like the occasional hang out session with the homies and even a trip to a restaurant every now and again, but my main source of enjoyment comes from being at home in my play clothes, feet up watching T.V.  Preferably Jeopardy or Adventure Time.  Here's a list of things you can do at home that you cannot do out and about (without consequence)

1. Fart
2. Not give a shit
3. Fall asleep
4. Not be bothered
5. Be at home
6. reach in the fridge and grab something for free
7. Did I mention, not give a shit?

Right now for instance, I'm watching Adventure Time, blogging, wearing my jams with my iPhone to the left of me reading FB or checking my text messages.  Olivia is running around in a pull up, taking a 24 pack of crayons one by one from the living room to her bedroom.  Liz went to grab us some lunch from Panda Express (for me) and Tommy's for her.  I've got both ceiling fans turning and basically, not giving a shit.  Sounds good huh?

I don't know much about blogging, but I think this is how.  Let me know what you think? 
Maybe I'll do more, maybe not.  No pressure.

Hi everyone!This is the very first time that I am blogging(besides THE FACEBOOK)on my own,so here it goes...My Lizzy is correct..we do,in fact,share the same brainwaves&do enjoy most of the same things;although I am a bit more bohemian&eccentric than Lizzy is.Sometimes,it is a bit strange though!Before my Goddaughter was born,I made a trip to Baby Gap and bought a TON of clothes,only to find that my Lizzy had just purchased ALL OF THE SAME DAMN STUFF!    #6.Being a Parent/Godparent
    Ok...I was a very young mother.I had my son when I was 20.It was both the hardest and best thing that I have ever done in my whole life.I traded my 20's for parenthood,and do not regret a minute of it!My son is the best person I know and has the best heart&kindest soul(I know,every parent says that about their kid)!We had the best time together when he was little(he now lives with his dad),and thoroughly enjoyed each other's company.He is a teenager now,so,we don't see eye-to-eye as much anymore.But,he is a really wonderful kid.Being a Godparent is THE greatest gift my bff has bestowed upon me.She asked me to be Liv's Godparent during a really hard time in my life.This made my WHOLE world change forever!I am now partially responsible for this lovely little jewel-FOREVER!Liv is the funniest toddler I have ever met!I always tell Lizzy,"Liv is one of us!"She is beautiful and wonderful and smart.I so happy to be part of her family and life forever.I take being a Godparent EXTREMELY seriously.

  This man was THE shit!The Catcher In The Rye was/is my favorite book-EVER!Come on!I named my son after Holden Caufield!I would have married J.D. Salinger...so smart!

#8.Nancy Grace-
This lady RULES!I am ALWAYS tuned into HLN(I know,I am a dork)!I know that I do not in any way fit the usual profile for her viewers-i.e.,I don't live in the Bible Belt and I am not a Republican.However,I love Nancy because she is so smart and tells people off like a mofo.I love her southern accent and she fights for missing women and children and all of the fallen soldiers that have died in that endless and meaningless war.

#9.Venice, Ca-
I live in V-town(A.K.A.Dogtown)...It is a mix of artists, homeless, professionals, skateboarders, surfers, quasi/hippies, and yuppies raising families.I really love living there.I am a transplant(an ex lived in Venice and I just made my life there), even though I used to ditch school in 8th grade and hang all day!I live in the RADDEST place ever. My building is 100 years old and Jim Morrison, Mae West lived there and was owned Laurel & Hardy. I even have an original clawfoot tub and a trundle bed.

It is a Muthafucking FREAKSHOW!!!

#10.Women with short hair-
I have had either almost shoulder length hair,to a very short and cropped pixie cut my whole adult life.I love the freedom of having short hair.It's super easy and I need to be really creative to stay super feminine,which is really fun!One of my favorite blogs is: FUCK YEAH-GIRLS WITH SHORT HAIR!I love it,because all the women are really edgy and hot and the photos are GORGE!Right now,my muses are Emma Watson and Jean Seaberg!I love them!

#11.My Girlfriends-
Firstly, My Lizzy is the SHIT!She is Lucy to my Ethel,Janet Wood to my Chrissy Snow,Thelma to my Louise,Rob to my Big...I can go on for ages...no doubt,she is TOPS and she KNOWS this!But,outside of my Lizzy,I have a small group of ladies that mean the world to me...we are a tribe&support each other in every aspect of life-even if we don't always agree on things!LOVE MY GIRLS!

#12.Europe-
I have been to Europe three times in my life!FANTASTIC!I have been to Italy,Spain(the BEST FOOD EVER!),France(MY FAVORITE PLACE ON THE PLANET),and England.I really thought that I would end up with a hot European man...so sophisticated and worldly and yummy!ME LIKEY!!!

#13. Urban Outfitters-
I love this joint!OMG!I shop there like a MOTHERFUCKER,and I am NOT playing!I have mostly been shopping online,though,because the sales online are cray-cray!Plus-anything over $50 is free shipping,and I LOOOOOOVE getting packages in the mail!WEEEEE!

#14.Coffee-
I cannot stay away from the stuff.I need it to start my day...or I cannot function!I also have my whole routine in the morning where I put on my full face,do my hair,pick out my coffee outfit for 45 minutes&walk to Starbucks,turn around and walk to work...I drink a Venti Vanilla Americano every day of my life...
