Paranoid Andriod

Yesterday was absolute torture. We went for a blood test to check my numbers have doubled. I waited for hours to get the results which turned out to be perfectly fine. I have yet to have one symptom so that's why I was so nervous. Antz played volleyball last night and I went to watch. A few people asked why I wasn't playing so I could spill the beans. We are making Expecting cards to give to all our friends and family. I wanted to buy these but they only have 4 available and Antz assured me he can make them for free!

Antz Version

We will work on them over the weekend. I am not sure what paper to use. Antz wants to go to Michaels but I don't think they will have the cardstock I want. I really want them embossed but we are on a budget *I dispise that word* and most people will most likely throw the cards away

Our first official ultrasound is next Tuesday. I hope we get a pic. Speaking of pics, this is the sweetest pic of Lola ever

We are having dinner with Antz sister, Debra tonight. Friday we are going to Paramount to see Capitalism: A Love Story.

This is Halloween

Antz Mom's birthday was this weekend and she had a get together at her house on Saturday. It was much fun, she made tacos and I ate 6! We framed a photo of her and Antz Dad and she cried when she opened it. We gave her a card that said Happy Birthday Love Antz, Liz and the Baby. She was so surprised, all of Antz family was there and everyone screamed and cried. It was awesome, I've never seen everyone so happy. I'm sure this was a long anticipated event as Antz is the youngest of 5 and the only one that hasn't had children yet. Antz sister got Mommy a sweet flat screen, her old TV was like vintage 1900's so she's pretty stoked. Not feeling any symptoms yet but not expecting any morning sickness until the 30th. YAY!

My favorite holiday is approaching. I have no idea what costume to be this year. We have been having ridiculous heat this week so we cooked while we decorated the house. We went to Target to pick up some new items but this year was quite disappointing. We only got a tombstone but last year we got some really awesome stuff. Here's the front of the house

O...M...G...!

I cannot believe it!

We went to the doc this morning for a blood test. I get the results this afternoon *fingers crossed*
I couldn't go home after the doc so I drove around Pasadena and I found a gorgeous Catholic Church. I wanted to light a candle but they were all lit, so I just said a few prayers. Antz is estatic, I am beyond stunned. I woke up at 4am and had to pee so I took the hpt. I tried to play it cool but I peeked and saw the Preggo!! I grabbed the camera and took some pics *which came out awful* and tried to go back to bed. I couldn't stop grinning so I woke up Antz and showed him the pics. He had no idea what I was showing him so I showed him the stick. We are both elated, over-the-moon, all the cliches you can think of. I never knew this was going to happen for us. We only told our doc and my acupuncturist, Gilli the good news. It sucks we can't tell our family yet because Antz Mom is having a birthday party this weekend and his favorite cousins are coming in from Mexico. Knowing us, we may spill the beans early but for now the plan is to wait until next week to confirm the blood test. I have never felt more grateful in my life. My life feels so perfect! I can't wait to start this journey.

2 days 2 Go!

I'm gonna make this quick because I am going to watch Bored to Death starring my insatiable Jason Schwartzman and Zack G. Story's birthday was Saturday so Antz and I went to 3 different Rockabilly shops for a pressie. We got her a Frankenstein Bobble head from a place in Little Tokyo, a Frankenstein tee from the Eagle Rock *Philipino* mall and a shrunken head sifter.  We wrapped them in awesome skull paper.

We visited the Burbank shelter and Antz fell in love with a pitbull named Tipsy *maybe she's a drunk*

He really wants a English bulldog because of the extreme mega cuteness of this video

We took Story to breakfast at a place called Dish in La Canada. OMG so yum! Antz, Chris and Story had grapefruit mimosas and I had fresh OJ. The food is super good and the restaurant was really nice.
I cooked spaghetti for dinner tonight. It was ok but for some reason I couldn't cook the pasta correctly, next time I'll use a timer. I am having lunch with Jes tomorrow at Emerald's :)  My Mummy is coming over on Wednesday. Been feeling like my period is on its way, nothing irregular happening. More to come...Mad Men and Bored to Death time.

bonne peine!

I really, really want to learn French. I want our child to be fluent in Spanish and French. His Grandmother will teach him Spanish. I took 7 years of Spanish so I can speak it adequately, but I want to speak French to our bebe. For some reason, I have not been able to retain French, I have made flash cards, read countless books and listened to French podcasts. I enrolled in a French class at a community college last year but I felt out of my element and it was quite difficult without any prior French basis. I dropped out the first week. Maybe at my age, my ability to learn a new language is slowing. I am considering the Rosetta Stone software, I hear it is very successful.  Ideally, I would learn if I spent a year in Paris *sigh*. When I was in Paris I didn't attempt French at all because every person we came in contact with spoke English.

Hopefully, I will learn it before our bebe is born *that gives me 9 months* Such an optimist!  My Mom may be coming into town next week but this week is at a stand still. Antz is playing volleyball tonight, I have not decided if I will go watch him play. It gets annoying when everyone asks me why I'm not playing. Saying I'm sick doesn't seem to be enough, they want to know what is wrong and when will I be playing again. I just want to scream I MAY BE PREGGO!! so staying home is an easier option. We have been talking about a much needed vacation but I really want to start saving for the 2012 London olympics and if we spend any money that will mess up my savings plan. If I could go anywhere *without financial worry* I would go to Hawaii. I would love to spend our 10 year anniversary there. However Alaska is peaking my interest as well. Oh well, I'll be happy if we get a weekend at my Godfather's house in Palm Springs.

Expecting cards

Cavallini & Co. ABC French Flash Cards

You came in with the breeze on Sunday morning

I am seldom awake this early on the weekend but I intend to be productive. So I shall do laundry, wash the dishes and get some swifter action going.  Then I will scurry off to the Eagle Rock farmer's market for fresh fruit that will rot before I eat it and korean beef skewers for Antz.

I have been really feeling nostalgic for NYC so I have been perusing the blogasphere and I found these lovely nuggets http://www.brooklynlimestone.com/ and http://www.designmom.com/.

These are a few of my favorite things for a Sunday afternoon

Nasa has really poor timing

Around 5:30ish I hear a loud boom and my house shook. I immediately thought it was the begining of an earthquake but there was no shaking. Antz heard it too in his office in Glendale. My heart was practically in my throat and I was shaking uncontrollably. It also didn't help that I have been watching 9/11 shows on the History channel all day. Alas, it was a space shuttle returning to Edwards air base. Not really the best day to schedule loud happenings, am I right? New York is very dear in my heart. In December 2000 I was proposed to on top of the Empire State Building. We have visited New York 5 times since and we even have this amazing picture from our trek across the Brooklyn Bridge in freezing weather.  Some of the photos are from our scrapbooks, my apologies for the lame scanner job.

It's 9/9/09!!

I am about to cook dinner for Antz. I am making steak and baked potatos. I would love some wine with dinner but none in the house. So I promise to write later tonight. I will debut my baby shower theme that I am totally stealing from Hostess with the Mostess. Toodles **I have returned. So as promised take a peek at my dream baby shower.

I love the palette, the French theme, the modern feel, no pastels!! I found most of the decor online and I am starting my search for black chivari chairs. I love themed parties and I found these masks for props to use in the photo booth. Antz has been enlisted to create our invitations, table numbers and posters. Don't you just adore that yummy circus font?!

I'm a glutton for punishment

We went to John's *not-so* Incredible Pizza for a birthday party. It was a fun place, like Dave & Buster's mixed with Chuck E Cheese with an all you can eat *awful* buffet and bumper cars, etc. It was amazing to me how many newborns I saw at the place. It was definitely not the most sanitary place to hang out but maybe I'm just a germaphobe. They had crossover pizza like mac n cheese, peanut butter and hamburger. I suggest they make a bacon pizza. I'm bummed summer is over. No more long days, no more great traffic going to Gilli's and no more half day Fridays for Antz. The only event coming up is Story's birthday and Halloween. Leslie may have a party. Oh, I almost forgot... Antz taught me how to use Photoshop! Here is my amateur attempt.
Before

After

See how novice I truly am! I hope to get better over time because I want to put together a remodel of this house. I promise to blog tomorrow since it will be 9/9/09. Love & other indoor sports
