Five Things I want to do in this lifetime

1. Learn to speak French (at least conversely)

The most amazing place in the world, Paris.

2. Attend the Opening Ceremony at the 2012 London Olympics

3. It would be incredible if we could see our child graduate from Oxford University (hopefully with honors).

4. I've said this a million times but I would like to be a guest at every W hotel so 49 to go, maybe one per year.

Hopefully I will go to W Maldives Retreat & Spa on our 20 year anniversary in 2022.

5.  I would like to swim with dolphins and scuba with sharks (preferably in the Great Barrier Reef).

Here's hoping for a long lifetime and enjoying the journey along to way to each accomplishment!

3 Days till Halloweenie

So, today I need to cut the horrible wig I got for my Rosemary costume. I got *well Antz found it* the best blue nightgown from a Thirft Store and has been freshly laundered. Antz bought a knife that looks more machete than kitchen knife but we both think it's funny. I will post my dress rehearsal later. We went to the doc's yesterday and alas, no more blood! The bebe's heartbeat is 170.

The bebe is starting to actually look like a baby!!

Monday we went to see The Gossip. I was super excited because I love Beth Ditto and I knew she would be rad but we showed up way too early because I thought it started at 7, it started at 8 and the Gossip didn't even perform until 11:30 so my feet were not happy. We did get to stand in the front row and I got some decent shots.

Waiting in line, for HOURS!!

The opening band, We Are the World, I liked them, great dancing!

The second band, MEN, didn't like so much, all the songs sounded the same.

The Gossip, they were wonderful! Beth had a sore throat but she still sounded amazing!
Overall, I prolly wouldn't have gone just because it was general admission and I need a seat at a show. I'm getting to old to be in the mosh pit.

Friday we are gonna see Paranormal Activity at Paramount. Leslie's Halloween party is Saturday. We still have no idea what Antz is gonna be but I really want him to be Mac from It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia

The Nightman!

Update: Antz has decided to be a garden gnome

The Inspiration. He just has to buy a Santa beard. I cut my wig and it looks more Julie Roberts in Pretty Woman wig than Rosemary's pixie cut :(

Wish I May, Wish I Might

All I do is surf bebe websites and create wishlists. I am always dreaming of lovely things from Anthropologie or etsy. I have been registered for bebe shower gifts since 2007. 80% of my friends and family do not purchase gifts from registries, they are more of the grab something out of my closet that can pass for a gift type or at the last minute $20 giftcard. In my dream world here are some shower gifts I'd love to see beautifully wrapped sitting in my living room

1.  Tiffany & Co. Elsa Peretti Wave Baby Brush *hand engraved*

2.  Design Within Reach Eames Molded Rocker Chair in White

3. Bundles of Burpies in Various Design from etsy.com

4. hello tree! felt pillows from etsy.com

5. Monkey Jungle Mobile by Buttercream Baby

6. Little Lion My First Year

I need to just keep on wishin. The people I'm dealing with shop at Toys R Us and Walmart. Not talking anyone down but they just aren't the creative think outside the box folks. I even have to say no clothing please on our bebe shower invitations  just to spare myself from the pastels typical insert-sports-team-here baby attire. My sister-in-law offered to throw a baby shower for me, I had to internally snort. She has been invited to 2 weddings this year, the first bridal shower she completely flaked and the second one, she showed up late. Her heart is in the right place but I couldn't trust her to show up on time to her own funeral. I have been perusing the blogasphere and I am baffled by all the amazing nurseries I have seen. Not only that but they somehow keep the rooms on a tight budget. I have been planning our nursery since we bought this house in 2006 and I can't keep in under $8,000! I am not shopping at Neiman Marcus either. My ultimate goal is to have our nursery featured on ohdeedoh. Ambitious, I know but my secret weapon is my artist, imaginative and more practically-minded husband. Well, tonight is finally movie night. I have been talking about Where the Wild Things Are for so long I hope I don't end up disappointed. Oh well, if anything I will get some inspiration and I like Karen O. so I will enjoy the soundtrack.

Hasta la Pasta

I am free!

Yesterday we went to the doc and I am now on modified bedrest. I still have some blood in my uterus but it's getting smaller. I can now go out and do more activity but I still have to take it easy peasy. We heard our bebe's heartbeat! OMG it was so loud and strong, 157 beats per minute. My numbers are great and growth looks good.

I am 8 weeks tomorrow and the embryo will become a fetus on the 27th. The umbillical cord is growing and the doc showed us our bebe's head. I sent Gilli and Dr. Evans flowers and cookies today.

Today is my friend Chris's birthday. I really want to go to the movies tonight but I heard mixed reviewed about Where the Wild Things Are so maybe we'll see Paranormal Activity.

Baby, Baby, Babymoon

I need a vacay! Seems strange to want to go on a vacation after spending the last 168 hours in bed but I am dying to take a trip. I am leaning towards New York but now that I am really thinking about it, I really want to go to New York so we can go to Niagara Falls and I read that I can't take the Maid of the Mist boat tour if I'm preggers. My friends just went so it makes me want to go more.

It looks pretty but there isn't much to do there unless we go to Canada.
Besides, I've been to New York like 8 times and maybe I should try somewhere I haven't been...Hawaii, yeah right! Maybe we can take a weekend road trip up the coast to Santa Barbara or Big Sur. I would like to go in March around my birthday *I'll be about 6 months by then*. Last time we took a trip was back in April, we went to San Diego to see Lily Allen. It was a blast, we stayed at the W. My dream is to stay at every W in the world which is quite ambitious since there are 52 hotels and 14 more being built. Maybe I can go to at least 20, so far I have 3 down!

Call the wahbulance

Usually when I am overwhelmed and too busy to breathe I think of how wonderful it would be to lay in bed all day with nothing to do but relax. Be careful for what you wish for, I have been on bedrest since Monday and this is complete torture. My muscles ache, I missed out on dinner and movies with friends and I was supposed to help my friend with decorations for her Halloween party. Here's the worst part of bed rest, the longer I'm in bed, the less sleep I get. I have never been more bored in my life. I took a crotchet class a while ago to learn to make a hat but I can't remember how to do the stitch so I can't work on it in bed. I know it's for our baby's health so I'll stay put but I want some fresh air! I want to take my dog for a nice long walk. I want to go to the farmers market and sample fresh fruit. I want to buy pumpkins from a pumpkin patch. I want to go see Where the Wild Things Are. Thank God for my husband, he has been wonderful, catering to my every need, rubbing my feet, getting my favorite snacks. Hopefully all is good and I'll be released from bed prision on Tuesday. I will never take being active for granted again.

It's all about the Christening

So the day we found out I was preggo we had a doc appt. After the appt. I was too excited to go home so I drove around Pasadena and somehow ended up at this amazing Catholic Church called St. Andrews.

Let me backtrack a bit first, I had been looking for a great church for our kid's christening for at least a year now. First we were going to have it at Holy Family in South Pasadena. It's a great church, my nieghbor goes there but the rules and guidelines are quite strict. You have to already be a participating patron for one year, you have to donate at least $5200 in that year. You must complete several Sacrament classes...and there's a ton of other stipulations to be considered. So I ruled that church out. Then one day on a random drive, we found San Gabriel Mission. A great historic and beautiful church but pretty far away and it seemed the majority of masses were held in Spanish. So back to St. Andrews, when I went there that day I knew that was the church for us. It's Romanesque achitecture, built in 1927 and has original frescos from Europe. There is only one class required and they hold a group baptism once a month. I have to go to the Pastoral Center and fill out an application. Easy Peasy!

We are planning to go to brunch after the Christening and I found a nearby place that has a Sunday Jazz brunch. I read reviews on yelp and it sounds really yummy. It's called Twin Palms and it's in Old Town Pasadena.

Now the biggest challenge is choosing Godparents. I want to pick Story & Chris but they are both Atheist and I'm not sure they would take the responsibility seriously. However, they are our best friends and will be a big part of our baby's life. In the event of our deaths, I would trust them to raise our kid. Oh well, we have until July 2010 to decide but I am booking the church and restaurant this month. Nothing wrong with planning ahead, right!

This makes me want to have another wedding *to the same guy*

I have been scouring for circus themed party favors and I stumbled across this amazing circus wedding.

How freaking rad are they? I love it! I wish I had a tent for our big day. I really want to find those huge balloons for our bebe shower. I found these DIY medallions for the Grandmothers.

I also found some gorgeous floral centerpiece ideas.

I have to keep reminding myself this is a baby shower and not a wedding. When we did our flowers for the wedding we were so novice and there was no blogs we could research to get *steal* great ideas. Although I did religiously read Martha Stewart Weddings our centerpieces were a bit yawn. I would never use baby's breath today *icky*!

I want to find a fabulous spring yellow *since our shower will be in May* dress and Antz will coordinate with me. I am curious to see what kind of shoes I will be able to wear by 8 months.

Still chained to the bed. :( I am so bummed because I'm going to miss my date with Aimee on Friday. We were going to see Where the Wild Things Are.

Bed Rest Sucks

I am only on day 2 of bed rest and I hate it. I am usually lazy and I procrastinate on cleaning the house but I want to wash the dishes, do a load of laundry and swifter sooo bad. I guess it's true you always want what you can't have. I joined BabyCenter and Farmville so that's helping the time go by. Antz brings me lunch everyday and that's nice. I told him to bring me visitors so I should jump in my presentable PJs.

Me in my snuggie!

I have decided I want to be Rosemary Woodhouse from Rosemary's Baby for Halloween

I'll have to find a light blue nightgown, a fake knife and a short blonde wig. That's going to be hard to find. I really wonder if my friends will have any clue of who I am. So, I just found out Goldstar has discounted Hollywood Bowl tix to see Ennio Morricone. Blast! He is my fave *swoon*. What a bummer. I guess I can't complain since I'm seeing the Gossip on the 26th *if I ever get off bed rest*. It's been rainy and cold this week. Pretty bored, I never get bored! Grrr

Last Halloween's costume

Can I top the goldfish??

Handmade by my talented and creative husband, Antz!

Today's the Big Day!

Do you like the new look? Antz designed my new header for me! :)

Today was our highly anticipated 2nd ultrasound. We saw the heartbeat!!! The little bebe had a strong flicker and growing beautifully.

There was some hemotoma so I was put on bed rest this week. :(

I am now tucked in by Antz, warm and comfy in bed watching old episodes of Bringing Home Baby. I am so relieved to know the heart is strong and our bebe is healthy. I have been having trouble sleeping but I'm sure it is anxiety. I had an amazing weekend. We went to Vinny & Natalie's wedding and had a blast. I ate shrimp and garlic potatoes and they ran out of wedding cake so they brought our table strawberry cheesecake. Nat & Vinny were so cute, I totally cried during their vows. Story looked so cute *hair by Liz*.

The Gang

It was a really fun night. On Sunday I met up with my old friends from Starbucks at Kabuki (no sushi for me, of course). I hadn't seen Tarah and Trisha for years. Tarah is in the process of converting to Judism before her wedding which I think is awesome. Trisha is going to nursing school so she is super happy.

They were super excited about our pregnancy. I can't wait till we send out the shower invites, it's gonna be super fantastic.
